Here's something special. Our much-cherished local singer-songwriter, Mr. Daniel Johnston, will be playing an intimate show at the St. David's Episcopal Church this evening at 6:00pm.
Johnston, despite living in nearby Waller, isn't prone to playing tons of shows here in Austin. He jammed both at SXSW and at the ACL fest this last year, but he plays infrequently enough in town that his performances are always extra-special. And now, in the setting of a hushed church, we're getting into extra-holy-special territory, or at least extra-extra-special. Johnston's most recent album was a collaboration with Jason Falkner entitled Is and Always Was, which features a more electronic interpretation of Johnston's vision.
